Thanksgiving plans change

When Aunt Tammy first bought her house here in Midland and we walked through rooms thinking about where she would be, where Nana would be, we walked into the dining room and talked about how awesome Thanksgiving would be in that house! With weeks leading up to Thanksgiving we divided up food amongst all the girls, with Nana of course doing the pies and turkey, Aunt Tammy doing all the traditional sides and Neeley and I taking the leftover dishes. We were all so excited to have a small Thanksgiving in the new house with Nana living in Midland.

As we made preparations for for Thanksgiving the kids had their own little Feasts at school that Drew, Rory and I went to. They were so proud to show us their artwork they made to go along with it.

Despite our best efforts and planning for Thanksgiving though The Fort family all came down with the flu just ahead of it. They were highly contaigious and we were all cautious of Nana's health so we postponed our family feast until the next weekend when everyone would hopefully be feeling better. This led to a last minute decision by Drew and I to drive to Amarillo on Thanksgiving day to spend it with his family. We took lemons and turned them into lemonade. We had a great day playing with family we don't see that often anymore and being thankful! The next weekend we got to have our traditional delicious family feast and got full on Nana's amazing pies!
