This weekend was so refreshing! Saturday morning after a minor crisis I stayed home all day with Mom and Nana. Nana made me a special breakfast at 11:00 when I woke up and then we spent the day catching up on Downton Abbey as I edited wedding photos I am behind on. It was a perfect day to stay in doors and take it easy! I told Drew Nana and Mom are really spoiling me as I am staying with them making it really hard to think of leaving them :) He responded by bringing me Cinnabons before church on Sunday.
Yesterday were my bridal portraits! I cannot believe it was already time to take them. Mom, Neeley, Tammy and Kelsey all were on hand to help me move around downtown Amarillo in my dress and place assorted props around. I had an idea to use one very big prop for a special set of pictures for Drew and I am hoping they turn out as great as I have pictured in my head.
One day last week my Mom, Nana and Aunt Tammy swooped in on mine and Drew's house to get my kitchen in order. Setting up a new home for two people can be a bit overwhelming, Drew has been very good to let me do pretty much what I wanted and I have handled everything with ease for the most part. The kitchen is a different story. I have never really properly set up a kitchen before so I was eager to have the professionals come in and do it for me :) Mom set to work opening our newly aquired presents, Nana washed all our new things, and Aunt Tammy cleaned and lined our cabinets and then organized all our new kitchen supplies. It was like watching magic! Within 2 hours all our stuff was unloaded, cleaned and put away in a nicely organized place. I now have a baking drawer!! So exciting!!
In an effort to try to complete our kitchen Drew and Lane spent Friday night trying to mount the massive microwave Drew brought home from work. Sitting it on top of the fridge was not the "grownup kitchen" look I was going for. My fiance' installed an electrical socket and together with Lane they mounted the thing. I then talked Drew into hanging up my Anthropologie mugs in the corner. My mom finished off my canister set from my registry for me as a Valentine's present which makes the kitchen just about perfect!
Back to the grind today as I try to muster up all the enthusiasm I can to face another work week and check down my list of wedding prep as we close in on the one month mark!
